“NEAR DEATH” IS TRULY TERRIFYING — YOU’LL FEEL EXHAUSTED, GRIPPING YOUR SEAT, UNABLE TO CONTAIN YOUR SHOCK AT THE SHEER BRILLIANCE OF THIS FILM.
The lead cast — RK Bagatsing, Charlie Dizon, Xyriel Manabat, Lotlot de Leon, Soliman Cruz, Joel Torre, and more — delivered outstanding performances that elevate the entire movie.
You’ll get goosebumps from the chilling scenes, perfectly matched with expertly crafted sound effects that heighten the tension. The use of color, lighting, production design, story, prosthetics, and camera movements is simply remarkable — all these elements come together seamlessly to immerse the viewer in the world of the film.
It pulls you right into the scene, making you feel like you’re actually there. It’s the kind of movie that makes you jump out of your seat — definitely better watched with family or friends by your side. These were exactly my reactions during the premiere night of “Near Death.” EXHAUSTING. BREATHTAKING. ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING. This film stands out as one of the finest local works you’ll see this year. It doesn’t just scare you — it leaves you with a lesson that stays with you long after the credits roll.
Production began back in April 2024, and after a year and a half of hard work and meticulous planning, it’s finally hitting the big screen. A film clearly made with passion, precision, and deep thought. One standout scene is the fire sequence — incredibly realistic — along with the prosthetics used on the deceased, adding authenticity and horror to the film. Just in time for All Souls Day, the film is perfectly timed. “Near Death” is the only local horror entry in this year’s SINE SINDAK film festival, showing nationwide in SM Cinemas from October 29 to November 9, 2025.
